About the Author
Jerry Gordon is currently the defensive coordinator at Potomac Falls High School in Sterling, Virginia. Gordon started his football career as a walk-on at the University of Massachusetts in 1979. He went on to become a three-year starter on the offensive line, earning a full scholarship and becoming one of the few players in University of Massachusetts history to become a two-time captain. University of Massachusetts won or shared three Yankee Conference football championships in that period.Gordon has coached with the Boston Breakers (USFL), Northeastern University, University of Massachusetts, Yale University, Sandwich High School (MA), and Potomac Falls High School (VA).Gordon has also had two articles published in Gridiron Magazine and an article published in Success magazine. Gordon has also written numerous Internet articles and has appeared on Portland radio station 95.5 The Game.Gordon and his wife, Carol, currently reside in Hamilton, Virginia. Gordon is stepfather to two children, Erik and Jennifer, and has three granddaughters.

This is an excellent book. It is about the 50 Under Front Defense and is well written and easy to understand. I use this defense as a variation of my Base 3-4 Defense and just may start using this defense as my Base from now on. This book provides you with all the position alignments, adjustments, and coverages that you would need to successfully install this Defense. It includes a chapter on defending the common offensive attacks you may encounter, including the basic Spread. This book has provided me with many concepts that I can actually use. This is highly recommended reading for any Base 50 or 3-4 Defensive Coordinator.
Very well written book, it's more than just the normal "here's our base alignment, here's our base coverage, and here's a bunch of blitzes you can run" defensive book. I'd recommend this to anybody looking for an in-depth look at how to play defense.
Loved this book! I’m always looking for ways to organize my defense, and this gave me plenty to think about!
Although my team doesn't run this defense, this book explains the philosophy behind the front and how it really limits bubbles in a team's defense.
It is a very thorough book Jerry has written. A very good book for any coach wanted to how the under front is executed.
Well written, but some parts use a complex communication system. Complicated for high schools that have fall only practice.
My husband is always reading books like this before bed. He finds it enlightening and informative for a coach or wannabe
I bought Coach Gordon's book to learn more about the under front defense. I can honestly say it was more than worth the money. Coach Gordon's book has helped us at two different schools. In my opinion it is in the top 3 books on defense football you can own
